Henderson Chamber, RTC talk transportation during breakfast

Networking event focuses on the Bypass I-11 program

HENDERSON, Nev. – The Henderson Chamber of Commerce will host a network breakfast featuring the Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) from 7 to 9 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 18, at the Terrace Banquet Hall – located at 1361 W. Warm Springs Road near North Stephanie Street in Henderson.

The guest speakers will be Mike Hand, the RTC’s director of engineering service, streets and highways, and Rudy Malfabon, director of the Nevada Department of Transportation. They will discuss the Interstate 11/Boulder City Bypass project.

The bypass would allow drivers to have two options to achieve their destination, access through Boulder City via U.S. 93, or around Boulder City via the bypass. The Nevada Legislature gave the RTC the authority to pursue public-private partnerships, including tolling, to develop the bypass. The project may also become part of the future Interstate 11, a proposed Interstate that would connect Las Vegas and Phoenix, Ariz. The RTC is working with NDOT on traffic and revenue studies for the project.

The event, sponsored by Sprint, is $20 for members, $40 for non-members. Attendees can RSVP by Friday, Dec. 14, via the chamber’s website, www.hendersonchamber.com. There is an additional charge of $10 for those who do not RSVP and pay online by Dec. 14.

Cancellations are required by the RSVP deadline to receive a refund.

The Henderson Chamber of Commerce is a nonprofit, voluntary organization committed to promoting and supporting member businesses.
